The best place I’ve been to for eyeglasses (A review, plus my story about my glasses)!

eyeglasses photo: Gucci 1525 Eyeglasses - Ueyewear.com 1525pz51.jpg

I  have to wear eyeglasses. I’m just not certain as to why I don’t have 20/20 vision.

Well, I guess I have to ask around. I had one day did something to

my glasses to cause them to look slanted or to shift. I hate that

feeling. So I tried to improve them. I tried to bend them into

an even position. But guess what? That did not work. The eyeglasses

broke. I had them for 2 years until they crack like eggs. Eyeglasses

are just so so delicate. I tried taping them with duct tape.

I know, I know, it looks tacky. Right! So I had to inform other

people that my glasses are broke. Each half of my eyeglasses

kept shifting out of the duct tape. So I had to try another idea.

I tried reading glasses. They remind me of sunglasses

and through my eyes I can tell they are blurry. So I propped my

old prescription glasses on top of the reading glasses so they

hold up onto my face. That way I could see through the prescription

glasses and have a support for them. My prescription glasses fell

off the reading glasses. (my special platform) I lost the other

half of my prescription eyeglasses and it was so irritating.

I hated having double glasses on. I felt embarassed.

I had called some places and some of the places said it

would take a week to get my glasses. Some said it would

be 2 weeks to get my glasses. Finally, I found a place that

would take my Blue Cross Complete health insurance and the

insurance fully covered the pay for my eyeglasses. And guess

what? There was no co-pay. This place is in the Westland area.

so it’s not too far from my reach. So I got my eyeglasses the very next

day and much to my delight. I got a pair of  blue

dreamy eyeglasses there. They have friendly and inviting

customer service representatives. Here is their address:

Henry Ford Optim Eyes (Eye Care Center)

Address: 35184 Central City Pkwy, Westland, MI 48185

Part 2: Spice your food up by putting some foods with others and/or adding different toppings!

I like cheese and crackers. They are a little snack that I used to have over a relative’s house. And when I say cheese and crackers, I dont mean putting a sheet of American cheese on top of the crackers. I had cheese that you can squirt out of the can. I wish I could remember which brand of canned cheese I used to get, because they are not all equally good. One particular brand of canned cheese made me nearly gag.

But enough about what I don’t like.I enjoy apples with peanut butter. The peanut butter dominates and gives the apple some real flavor. A friend of mine suggested this idea.

Next, I love subway.Since I’ve been to subway a few days before posting this, I got a BLT sandwich without tomatoes . Yes.I know I was missing out on a very healthy and important vegetable.but I just did not want any. I asked them to include lettuoe, mayo, mustard, and jalapeno peppers.Jalapeno peppers made the sandwich spicy. It also helped to boost up its greatness.

And another thing-Syrup is not the only thing I use for pancakes, biscuits, and french toast. When ‘I’m not using syrup, I put jelly on those breads.

Oh, and I also love baked potatoes with chili.

This Key Lime Pie is better than cheesecake!

Cheesecake and key lime pie sort of resemble each other. Except key lime pie has a slight twist to it and is better tasting than cheesecake. The key lime pie I’m bragging about is made by the brand name Edwards. It comes as two servings in one small box, which allows you to indulge but not too much. The inner filling of the pie is centered on a brown cookie crust. This key lime pie is also made with the most genuine key west lime juice. Its loaded with flavor and good on the eyes. The box says you can have your key lime pie two ways. If you want a firm texture, serve the pie directly from the freezer. On the other hand, if you want a softer texture, place this pie in the refridgerator for 60-70 minutes and consume immediately. No matter what, this pie is so addictive. I found myself craving more of it.
Hope you’ll try it and enjoy!

Spice your food up by putting some foods with others and/or adding different toppings!

SubwayFlatizza Food is beautiful. It’s art, especially junk food. I have never seen any food be as beautiful as junk food. Junk food is also very tasty.   Sometimes you may have had a food multiple times a week because you love it.If cooked right, I could have nacho bell grande everyday.  Though sometimes no matter how much you love a food , it’s good to switch up. Taco bell food is great. But I really love homemade nacho bell grande. A friend makes nacho belle grande in a pot and has put doritos and some toppings on it like onion and ground turkey. We add sour cream and salsa. The lnacho belle grande sits in that huge container ready for family to serve themselves. It fits neat into the pot like a casserole. It is so so very good. Nacho grande, like in another post I wrote is great in a certain way. I enjoy my nacho bell grande with doritos, ground turkey, sour cream, onion, cheddar cheese, salsa (or ortega sauce) jalapeno peppers, and refried beans. No guacomole. I can’t stand the taste of guacomole.

Now that you’ve heard about a great way to have nacho bell grande, you will hear more about the ways other foods taste good.

My mother came up with the idea of chili on cornbread. That is delicious.

My friend who my mother went to school with likes to make tuna on whole wheat bread. Tuna is great that way, but it is also great with crackers. She gets the tuna in water. She adds the miracle whip, sweet relish, boiled eggs, and mustard.

Now enough about tuna. I enjoy spaghetti with parmesan cheese.

As for pizza though, it goes well with parmesan cheese too. I got to subway, get a flatizza. They come with pepperoni, salami, cheese, and pizza sauce. I ask them to add parmesan cheese. There is something special about the subways in South Carolina. The flatizzas in South Carolina have much better flatizzas than the few subways I’ve been to in Michigan. Also, when I go to subway, I get the 12 inch sub sandwiches because they are too good to just get the 6 inch sandwich. I order a sandwich like the BMT and get mayonnaise, mustard, barbecue sauce, lettuce, and pickles.

I enjoy chicken. Somebody else I know  enjoys chicken too. He adds breadcrumbs to chicken. This was new to me. Most of my life I had never heard of this combination. But then I’m assuming there will be lots of foods that go together that I’ve never tried.

I love pizza with jalapeno peppers on them.Ham and cheese goes great on croissants. Cheerios is the best with brown sugar in it. Pork Chops with gravy is a delight. French Fries with seasoned salt is oh so surperb.

Chili mac is good too. I had never heard of it until I got to college.  Also, I first tried a baked potato with bacon and sour cream, shredded cheese, and butter at college. I also like to switch up the baked potato and put bacon and cheddar cheese on it.

Does any of you have your favorite foods mixed with something else or some special toppings?

Food Labels can trick buyers!

Have you ever wondered how many calories you were getting from eating a box of cookies, crackers, or whole package of candy? Sometimes you
eat before you think. You might eat the whole package of gummy bears and
realize your intake was 2.5 servings. I noticed that there was a Rock and Rye
soda at Family Dollar. I thought it was one serving. It was one dollar, but had

4 servings in that bottle . I was just thinking thank God I looked at the food label. So why is it that there is 4 servings in that size bottle? It might as well have been a quart or a gallon.

Have you  ever been duped (tricked) by the food label? It’s difficult to avoid based on the words of  the FDA and published by the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Researchers  redesigned food labels and test them against standard ones in order
to figure out which health information is the most clear. Compare and contrast makes the
difference.

In one tweak, the nutritional information was divided into two columns when a                                        package contained more than a serving. The second gave nutritional details on                                 the complete package. In another tweak, packages were labeled with the latter info                                  only.

Then researchers put these labels on a bag of chips and a frozen meal. These are foods                            that can be eating in one sitting, even though they have over 1 serving. Those who                                   participated considered a food “healthy if they only saw nutritional info on a single                                serving, which is what’s currently on labels.

Even though we as people might not be too good at decoding food labels, over 70                                     percent of American adults do read food labels. Well, at least you tried. If you were
tricked, try again.

Ingredients It’s best to read the ingredients in the food packages you consume. There were at                  many sneaky names for sugar.  PHD holder and registered dietitian Susan Shapiro                                 said “The ingredients are listed from highest, or biggest component of the product –                          to the smallest”. Some of those sneaky names for sugar are sucrose, evaporated cane  juice,         agave nectar, fruit juice concentrate, 100% fruit juice, high fructose corn syrup,  The oses (sucrose, glucose, galactose, maltose, dextrose, fructose, and lactose, blackstrap molasses, organic brown rice syrup, and barle malt, treacle, diatase, diastatic malt, and panocha. The list of sneaky sugar names comes from the following:

http://www.prevention.com/food/healthy-eating-tips/agave-glucose-and-other-names-sugar/10-and-so-many-more

Conversion:  If you thought math stopped in college, guess again. It may not be on the box, but
28 grams equals one ounce. For a serving of cheese, for example, is a single ounce–
which is the same as the end of your pointer finger.

Units- Watch out for the units on your food label. Shapiro says “They might not be consistent”. Know how much a gram, mililiter, or miligram is to prevent yourself from
overdoing it on ingredients and portions too. An adult should be getting at the most,6
grams of salt each day. Now you know why we take these classes in math and science?

Let’s get or keep that great figure, wherever you are at this point!

Now that you know this information, what are you going to do about it? What will you do with it?It’s all up to you.  But hopefully you’ll do something for the betterment of food consumption. After all, the greatest things we need to do ourselves require knowledge-driving, cooking, doing hair, eating, etc. Have a great day people!

10 top foods for the most desirable hair!

Alicia Keys.JPG

What is a woman’s most loved part of her body? Her hair!  I mean

it is the most noticeable thing about women specifically and men

too. So let’s take care of it. The way you take care of your hair

starts with what you put on the inside of you. Having the hair

of your dreams is something to celebrate everyday of your life.

Every strand and all that thickness and great length is worth

celebrating. And since it’s so valuable, go ahead and eat

these foods so you can see healthy hair results.

Yes, go  grab up some or all of these foods and put it

to work. Eat them.

1. Salmon- It’s loaded with protein and vitamin D and consists

of omega 3 fatty acids. Only 3% of the hair shaft is made of

these fatty actids. Omega 3’s are also in cell membranes in the

skin of your scalp and in the natural oils that keep both your

scalp and hair hydrated.

Note: If salmon is on your banned list, you can get those fatty acids

from herring, sardines, trout, and mackerel. Avocado, pumpkin

seeds, and walnuts can do the same job.

Walnuts- They are the only type of nuts that have a great

amount of omega 3 fatty acids. They also come loaded with

vitamin E and biotin. THis helps protect cells from DNA

damage. This comes to great use for when your hair is out

in the sun. Walnuts have copper to keep your natural

hair color rich and fresh.

Note:

You can use walnut oil for your salad dressing or stir fry

instead of canola or safflower.

3. Oysters have alot of zinc in them. Not getting enough

of zinc can cause hair loss as well as dry flaky scalp.

THree ounces has 493% of your daily value. Zinc is

found in fortified cereals and whole grain breads. Hair

is 97% protein.

Note: Nuts, beef, eggs give you the zinc you need.

4. Sweet potatoes- they are a wonderful source of antioxidant

beta carotene, which your body turns into vitamin A.

It, in addition, helps protect and make the oils that sustain

the scalp. If you are low on vitamin a, you may have

dandruff.

5. Eggs- They have zinc, selenium, sulfur, and iron. Iron is

very important  since it carries oxygen to the hair follicles.

Too little iron causes hair loss, especially in women.

Note: Chicken, fish, pork, and beef can boost your iron count.

6. SPinach- The iron, beta carotene, folate, and vitamin c in

spinach help keep hair follicles healthy and scalp oils in

motion back and forth.

Note:Dark leafy vegetables like broccoli, kale, and Swiss chard are good to try.

7. Lentils- These legumes have protein, iron, zinc, and biotin. This makes it versatile for vegetarian, vegans, and meat eaters.

Note: Toss soybeans and kidney beans into a soup or salad and chow down.

8. Greek yogurt – It’s low in fat. It is high in vitamin B5, which
is hair-friendly protein, and vitamin D.

Note: Cottage cheese, low fat cheese, and skim milk are awesome substitutes.

9. Blueberries-It is necessary for circulation to the scalp and

supports the tiny blood vessels that feed the follicles.

Note: Kiwis, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and strawberries are

great too.

10. Poultry- It has hair healthy zinc, iron, and B vitamins to keep

strands strong. Since hair is close to being all protein,” foods

rich in protein are literally giving you the building blocks

for hair,” says Drayer.

After all, isn’t life more exciting when your hair is pretty?

You’ll lose more weight doing Water aerobics than regular aerobics! Plus additional benefits!

4/365 Light weight!

I love water. No one can duck and dive in it like Rihanna
in her video Umbrella. I love swimming, how it feels and
how elegant it looks.

Water aerobics is a great type of aerobic work out.
This is one way for you peeps to stay fit and healthy
without sweating your core out. It’s also a way to
avoid stressing your body.

Dig this, water reduces the effect that gravity has
on your body. Therefore, stretching under water
will cause little strain on your joints and give you
greater range of motion than on land.

Water gives greater resistance to your movements
than air does. Thus, you burn more calories when
doing aerobics in water. This type of resistance
will raise your muscular endurance and cardiovascular
fitness.

The buoyancy provided by water will give you better
balance, posture, and flexibility, and thus lessening
your capability for injury. Studies show that waist
deep water supports 50% of your weight and
chest deep water even more at 90% of body weight.
THis is what makes water aerobics very
beneficial for people with arthritis, osteoporosis,
joint problems or back pain.

Water has a massaging effect on your muscles. This
gives water aerobics the power to let our your tension
and stress in your muscles. So if you want to calm
and soothe that body of yours, you can always
give water aerobics a try.

Water aerobics blends body movements and dance
routines. You can put music to it. COme on
and come up people! Jazz it up!

Even if you a pregnant woman, you can benefit
from water aerobics low impact routine. This will
comfort you in your labor period and delivery. It will
help ya’ll recover and lose those additional pounds
gained during pregnancy very fast. Yet, like
any excercise, it’s always best to ask your
doctor if it’s okay to do.

Now we all know, there’s kicking, punching
and dancing on air, but how many people actually
have or want to try water aerobics? If so get
ready for a beautiful fireworks type of display.
It sounds like much fun, wanna try?

Negative emotions, emotional imbalance and Constant bad thoughts are all connected!

9781572225176

Negative Emotions, emotional imbalance and unwanted thoughts
are all tied together in a bow. I mean how easy is it to live in
this world thinking positive all the time? I think we all have
negative thoughts, it’s just some people think more negative
thoughts than others. We all have negative emotions, but
those things in excess can do the most damage.

My point is this:
Negative emotions don’t allow us to see life situations naturally.
They mess up the normal thinking process. When a person
continuous collection of negative emotions for a long period of
time can damage our persona and hamper our health and happiness too.

Behavioral negativities such as fear, shame, guilt, arrogance, envy,
jealously, greed, phobia are symptoms of negative emotions. On
the other hand, over enthusiasm, passions, elations, and some
forms of love can cause negative emotions.

A cold, headache, late night or missed meal are all things that can alter
our behavior.

Rage, anger, arrogance, uncontrolled desire, and violence just
like self pity, melancholy, loneliness, boredom, are types of
negative emotions.

Negative emotions take up so much energy and can take your
thinking pattern into the wrong direction.

There is a persistent wrong way of thinking like always taking
and imagining negative, thinking bad for others like scandal,
gossiping, distrust, and doubting.

Emotionally imbalanced people have a blockage in the flow of energy
through the meridian system due to constant accumulation of
negative emotions. When the blockages are comforted and
released through purging negative emotions come into balance.

Emotionally balanced people have a pragmatic attitude towards
life, you won’t get upset about the past incident.

Negative feelings cause people to be emotionally imbalanced and
many people drink.

I mean life is not easy. It wouldn’t surprise me if life stressed some people
out so much they had negative emotions more often than normal.
I mean life is supposed to be exciting and not so plagued with
sin and problems all the time. But ofcourse, we can always go to
God with our problems and ask him for help.

What tips do you have to relax? I have to admit that the things that
happen in life can be the most annoying stressful and irritating things
to go through. If there were more positive people, there may be less
negative emotions.
